This year we will be spending Valentines Day at the happiest place on earth. We’re going to Disneyland! This will be my third time, but Chris’s very first.
The forecast for that day is 59 degree Fahrenheit(15 Celsius), with a 40% chance of rain. And I couldn’t be happier!
The best days to go to these popular destinations are on the days no one else wants to go. How many people do you honestly think are going to be at Disney with me in the rain? Chances are, not many.
And that’s exactly why you should.
Especially if you’ve never been there before. You will get so much more out of your experience, purely because you will be able to do so much more on that day.
Disney lines are infamous for long waits because it’s such a popular vacation destination. You could be standing around for an hour or two, waiting to get on a 30 second ride.
When you go on a rainy day you’ll be able to just walk right on any ride you want! You can go as many times as you want without worrying about wasting too much time.
Sure, there might be a few rides shut down if the rain get too back. The outdoor ride especially might temporarily close if it starts raining too hard or if lighting starts, but there are plenty of indoor attractions to keep you busy while you wait for it to pass. And chances are that those rides will open back up when the weather calms down, especially if it’s just scattered showers through the day.
Just bring an umbrella or a poncho, and dress accordingly. Save the tank top and jeans for another time. If it’s only going to be raining for the first portion of the day, it’s not a bad idea to bring a change of clothes and store them in one of the locker locations that a places sporadically throughout the parks. This way you have something dry to change into once the rain subsides.
Remember, when you’re traveling it’s important to always try to look at the bright side of the situation. Remain flexible in your plans for the day and adapt to unfavorable weather conditions. It will make for a more pleasant traveling experience and will give you one hell of a story to tell when you get back.
Your money will return, your time won’t
